This is an example of the type of great information and intel you get after of joining AmnesiaGaming:
"CAPTURE THE FLAG PATH
In every ctf map there is a certain set path that the flag carrier follows. To stray from this path means that the flag carrier will have a harder time, a slower time, or likely die faster. This path is the fastest path from the team flag to the enemy flag. Mapping it out takes a long time for some maps and is fairly simple for others. The path is the most important thing in ctf in my opinion because once everyone knows the given paths, perfect teamwork will be the result.
Defense:
Defense always moving, never standing in one spot unless absolutely necessary. A defender should ALWAYS know how to run offense on the given map they defend. This is so that they will be able to recognize the timing of incoming waves of enemies. The defense uses the path in the way that when someone grabs the flag, makes it out of the base, the defenders use the path against the flag carrier and his cover. They find points along the path to carefully hit the flag carrier and his cover. When doing this you may always find that you have more numbers for the other team. Therefore you must surprise them by using corners to your advantage, wait around a corner, pop out then unload your entire clip while backtracking back behind the corner. Once you hit the safe corner you should have time to reload and continue this behavior.
Flag Cover/Mid
The flag cover person(s) do not follow the path of the flag carrier either. Moreso, they follow the same path parrallel to the flag carrier but close enough so that they can always pickup the flag within 5 seconds after the flag carrier dies. The flag carrier's job is to make any and all defenders follow him along his set path or on a parallel path to his position and/or behind him. Therefore, the cover is to watch this and hit the enemy defenders along the set paths. Many times you will have to not kill incoming offenders so as to get close to the enemy defenders.
Offense/Flag Carrier:
Your primary job as an offensive player is to first force a spawn away from the flag. This spawn will be dictated in every map and you'll know your specific job. Failure to use this attack pattern will result in a spawn very close to your flag and will kill your entire defense so be sure that you know the major spawns and how to force them! The hardest part of the flag carrier is how to map out the path itself. This takes much practice and testing. The best test is to try it out in pubs where you can run against 5-8 guys defending the flag. The offense's job is to get in, get out and try to take as many defenders ..."
